Italy-based Trelleborg Wheel Systems unveiled its $50 million, 150,000-square-foot production plant in Spartanburg County. A company official said the plant has already hired 52 employees and expects to add nearly 100 more by 2018. The facility will produce tires for the agriculture and forestry industries. “We need to be closer to our customers,” said Roderick Scotto, general manager of Trelleborg's Spartanburg plant. “We are a global company, but we must have a local presence.”
