Who has authority over cable rates?

Spartanburg County does not have the authority to regulate cable rates. That authority rests with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC regulates basic rates only. Extended rates and rates for premium channels are not regulated.

Who do I contact regarding cable rates?

The FCC who has authority over basic cable rates. Usually when contacted the FCC may ask for documentation or evidence that an attempt has been made to resolve the issue locally. It is recommended that records be kept on any efforts to resolve a conflict with the cable company.
