Building & Fire Inspection Request Instructions

In order to assist you in obtaining timely inspections, Spartanburg County will attempt to make same day inspections for requests called in prior to 7:00 A.M. For requests called in after 7:00A.M., inspections will be made on the next business day. Inspections may be cancelled during the same time frame. Every attempt will be made to make your inspection when requested. However, we cannot guarantee the time of an inspection.

If you need to schedule a time with your inspector, you must call between 8:00A.M. and 9:00A.M. on the day of your scheduled inspection and speak with your inspector.

When you have dialed into the IVR System, it will ask you for the following:

(1.) Enter Jurisdiction Number: 69 Followed by the # sign.

(2.) Enter the Permit Pin number (found at the top of your permit) _______ followed by the # sign.

(3.) Enter the Permit Key number (found at the top of your permit) _______ followed by the # sign.

The message will inform you that it has located the permit number at the assigned address and the status: (example: Issued, Applied, Completed.)

The message will then direct you to Press:

#1 To Request an inspection

#2 To Cancel an inspection

#3 To Obtain more information about building Department accounts.

#9 To End the call

If pressing #1 to request an inspection, listen to all options before making your selections: Inspections will be listed in the order they appear on the permit. Completed inspections will not be listed.

The system will request a numeric selection: AFTER you have made your selection you may PRESS:

#1 For Today (actual date before 7am)

#2 For Tomorrow

#3 For Next day

You may call the Inspectors between the hours of 8:00 A.M.-9:00A.M. Or 4:00P.M. -4:30P.M. For additional information.

NOTE: If the contactor has an account set up, the contractor will get inspection results for their permit online.

**It should be noted that the Inspector will leave write-ups on the job site and will sign off the orange permit card which should be posted on the job site.**
