Administrative Work Session
August 21, 2000
An Administrative Work Session of Spartanburg County Council was held on Monday, August 21, 2000, in Conference Room Two of the County Administrative Office Building. All members of Council were present along with James K. Hartmann, County Administrator; Bill Dennis, Deputy County Administrator; Glenn Breed, Assistant County Administrator; and Billy Smith, Assistant County Attorney. In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, notice of this meeting was provided in advance to the local news media and other interested parties.
- Chairman Floyd called the meeting to order.
- A proposed list of the top 3 accomplishments of each of the County Council Committees was provided to each Council member. Members were asked to review the list and make any recommendations by Friday of this week.
- Council Members agreed to schedule a Retreat on October 27th, 2000. The Clerk will secure the location, which will be either on the Wofford College Campus or at the Headquarters Library.
- Motion by Mr. Nutt to accept the low bid for publication of delinquent taxes, which was received from Hometown News. Motion seconded by Mr. Britt. A vote was taken with Ms. Floyd voting no. The motion carried.
- Motion by Mr. Horton to create a Land Use Committee of Council. Motion seconded by Ms. Stewart and carried. Council members will contact the Chairman if they are interested in serving on this committee.
