Economic Recruitment and Development Committee

The Economic Recruitment and Development Committee of Spartanburg County Council met on June 19, 2000, in Conference Room Two of the County Administrative Office Building. The following were in attendance: Honorable David Britt, Chairman; Honorables Frank Nutt and Ken Huckaby, Committee members; along with the Honorables Karen Floyd, Jeff Horton, Johnnye Code Stewart, and Rock Adams, Council Members. Also in attendance were Mr. James K. Hartmann, County Administrator; Mr. Bill Dennis, Deputy County Administrator; Mr. Glenn Breed, Assistant County Administrator; and Mr. Edwin Haskell, Assistant County Attorney.
In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, notice of this meeting was provided in advance to local news media and other interested parties.
II. A. Information was received regarding a Resolution designating the Hillcrest Mall Site as a multi-county industrial and business park. Mr. Britt explained that the property owner would receive a 3% tax rebate on improved properties over a 15 year period. Motion by Mr. Nutt to recommend to full Council adoption of the above-referenced Resolution. Motion seconded by Mr. Huckaby and carried.
