The Economic Recruitment and Development Committee of Spartanburg County Council met on Monday, August 21, 2000, in Conference Room Two of the County Administrative Office Building. The following were present: Honorable David Britt, Chairman; Honorables Frank Nutt and Ken Huckaby Members; Honorables Karen Floyd, Jeff Horton, Johnnye Code Stewart and Rock Adams, Council members. Also in attendance were James K. Hartmann, County Administrator; Bill Dennis, Deputy County Administrator; Glenn Breed, Assistant County Administrator; and Billy Smith, Assistant County Attorney.

1. Chairman Britt called the meeting to order.
2. A. Information was received regarding a request from Ballet Spartanburg to assist with funding for bringing the Nutcracker to the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Motion by Mr. Huckaby to approve an expenditure of up to $15,000 to assist with facility costs to bring the Nutcracker to the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Motion seconded by Mr. Britt and carried.
