Public Works, Buildings and Grounds

The Public Works, Buildings and Grounds Committee of Spartanburg County Council met on Monday, January 17, 2000, Conference Room Two, County Administrative Office Building. The following were present: Honorable Frank Nutt, Chairman, along with Jeff Horton and Rock Adams, Committee members. Also in attendance were the Honorables Karen Floyd, David Britt, Ken Huckaby, and Johnnye Code Stewart, Council Members; along with James K. Hartmann, County Administrator; Glenn Breed, Assistant County Administrator; and Roy Smith, County Attorney.

Mr. Nutt called the meeting to order.

Information was received regarding activities of the Public Works Department.

Chairman Nutt introduced the new Environmental Services Director, Scott Keller. Mr. Nutt provided Council with a memorandum from Ray Sistare dated January 17, 2000, regarding a request for the installation of a four way stop at the intersection of Willis Road and Brandermill Road. Mr. Sistare’s memorandum stated that traffic counts have been completed and although there is no finding for a four way stop, there is limited site distance at this intersection. This item carried over with no action taken. Staff will research and provide protocol at Council’s Retreat in February.
