Special Meeting

December 2, 1999

A special meeting of Spartanburg County Council was held on Thursday, December 2, 1999, at 10:00 o'clock a.m. in Conference Room Two, County Administrative Office Building. The following were present: Honorable Karen Floyd, Chairman; Honorables Rock Adams, Jeff Horton, Johnnye Code Stewart, Frank Nutt and David Britt, Members; along with James K. Hartmann, County Administrator; Paula J. Wayne, Deputy County Administrator; Glenn Breed, Assistant County Administrator; Roy McBee Smith, County Attorney, and Edwin Haskell, Assistant County Attorney.

In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, notice of this meeting was provided in advance to the local news media and other interested persons.

I.

Chairman Floyd called the meeting to order.

II.

Motion by Mr. Adams to render first reading by title to an Ordinance relative to the enlargement of the Duncan Fire Service Area. Motion seconded by Mr. Britt and carried.

III.

Motion by Ms. Stewart to go into executive session to discuss a procedural matter with the county attorney; to discuss the sale and purchase of county property; and to receive attorney advice concerning assessment and property taxation issues.

Motion by Ms. Stewart to close executive session; motion seconded by Mr. Britt and carried.

Meeting adjourned.
