SPARTANBURG COUNTY ADOPT-A-ROAD PROGRAM

Interested in helping to keep our county and your community clean?

Spartanburg County's ADOPT-A-ROAD program is designed to help keep our county roadways litter free. The program promotes and establishes stewardship of public lands by citizens, and is an excellent example of the public and private sector working together to solve a mutual problem. To date we currently have Individuals, families, youth organizations, businesses, civic and non-profit organizations, religious groups, fraternities, sororities, and schools taking part. We will always have room for growth.

A quick overview of the program: A two-mile section of road right of way is adopted either in or near your community. We ask the adoptee sign a minimum one year agreement to pick up litter along the adopted road way at least four times a year. These dates are preset by the State maintained Adopt a Highway program.

Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement Department provides safety vests and bags. This Department will also have signs erected along the adopted stretch of roadway.

Complete an Application Form below and mail to the address or contact us by e-mail or telephone for more information.
