South Carolinians Can Help Fight Litter By Using Tax Check-Off Option

Contributions to litter control fund to go toward law enforcement of the litter laws

Columbia, SC – This tax season, South Carolinians can help fight litter by using the tax check-off box on their individual tax returns. By completing the option marked “litter control fund” on forms SC1040 and SC1040A, South Carolina residents can set aside a specific dollar amount for the enforcement of litter laws.

“This is a quick and easy way for people to make a real difference,” said Joe Clardy, President of South Carolina Litter Control Association. “All contributions made to the litter control fund will go directly to law enforcement, helping us catch those who trash our beautiful state.”

For more information on the check-off option or how you can help keep South Carolina clean, call 1-877-PAL-PRDE (1-877-725-7733) or visit www.palmettopride.org.
