Spartanburg Area Transportation Study (SPATS)

SPATS Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update

Thank you in advance for participating in the creation of the Spartanburg Area Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan! We need your input now! We are coming to the end of our information-gathering process and Spartanburg Area Transportation Study (SPATS) needs to know what you think of the current infrastructure for bicycles and pedestrians in the County as well as to get your opinion on where we should create more and better access for cyclists and pedestrians!

Please take a few moments to fill out this short questionnaire:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=IaD8PeZm_2fh_2buTBDhKT6NVg_3d_3d

Your response will help to build a better understanding of area needs and priorities. Even if you don’t walk or bike regularly, your feedback will be helpful. Questions include items on:
     1) your current walking and biking
     2) barriers to walking and biking in your community
     3) desired future walking and biking opportunities
     4) priorities for future improvements and 5) general comments.

Your response will be anonymous and very much appreciated.

More details can be found on the official master plan site: www.greenways.com/spartanburg

SPATS
"Planning for the next century..."

The Spartanburg Area Transportation Study (SPATS) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) charged with identifying needed transportation projects within the Spartanburg,
S. C. urban area, and programming federal funding for those identified projects.
Transportation projects that are currently funded are included within the Five Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). SPATS is also responsible for the formulation and maintenance of a Long Range Transportation Plan that identifies transportation needs twenty years into the future based upon population, traffic, and economic growth projections.  The Long Range Transportation Plan is currently being updated.
