Effective July 1, 2006 the Spartanburg County Parks & Recreation Department became the Spartanburg County Parks & Recreation Commission. It is now a Special Tax District which encompasses residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Spartanburg County. |

| Members of the Commission Board of Trustees are appointed by the Spartanburg County Council. They will serve in rotating terms of four, three or two years. |
