The new Road Maintenance Fee is enabling Spartanburg County to begin a new road maintenance and road improvement program. The program has two major elements.

Annual Resurfacing Program: The County will begin spending approximately $3 million each year on repaving roads, repairing drainage systems, cleaning ditches and maintaining rights-of-way.

Capital Improvement Program: The County is initiating a $19.5 million Capital Improvement Program that includes safety improvements, road widening, intersection improvements and bridge replacements. These are major, non-recurring projects.

The result is better, safer roads, less damage to vehicle, and well maintained infrastructure.
