Mission Statement
The mission of the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Spartanburg County is to ensure every eligible citizen has the opportunity to register to vote; to conduct fair and impartial elections; to ensure that all citizens have the assurance that their votes will count.
Effective January 1, 2013 in order to vote in any election, Voters must show ONE of the following Photo IDs at their polling location:
  • S.C. Driver's license
  • ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Federal Military ID
  • U.S. Passport
  • S.C. Voter Registration Card with photo
How to Get a Photo ID if you do not already have one of the above :
  • Get a DMV ID card at a local DMV office free of charge. Check with DMV or for required documents
  • For first time voter registrations: Get a voter registration card with a photo from your county voter registration and elections office by registering to vote by providing your residential address, mailing address, date of birth and your Social Security Number. You must do this in-person to have your photo made.
  • If you are already registered to vote and do not have one of the above 5 photo IDs, come into the office and simply provide your name, date of birth and last four digits of your SSN.
  • Note: Voter who already possess a current SC driver's license, State issued ID, military ID or passport do not need to get a voter photo registration card.

  • June 9 – Duncan and Campobello municipal elections
  • November 3 – School Trustees; Municipal Elections for City of Spartanburg, Landrum, Greer, Pacolet, Central Pacolet and Gowensville Fire District

    Sample Ballots Are Now Available
    Sample ballots are now available at To view sample ballots:
    • Visit and click on "Get My Sample Ballot" in the MyscVOTES section on the right side of the page.
    • Enter your county, name and date of birth to access your voter registration record.
    • Click "View Sample Ballot".
    • Select a party(primaries only), then click the button to download your ballot.
    • Click "OK" to view a .PDF of your ballot.
