SPARTANBURG MAN RECEIVES 15-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR DOMESTIC-RELATED STABBING A Spartanburg man received a 15-year prison sentence today when he admitted to stabbing his former girlfriend in the parking lot of her apartment home. Paul Scott, 55, pleaded guilty to assault and battery with intent to kill before Circuit Judge Mark Hayes. Scott stabbed Laste Leak, 39, in the parking lot of the Creek Ridge Apartments about 9:30 p.m. on April 16, 2005. Leak was hospitalized for two weeks as a result of wounds to the right side of her neck, her left breast and her abdomen. Scott will serve 85 percent of the prison sentence before he is eligible for release. |
