GAFFNEY MEN RECEIVE 15-YEAR PRISON SENTENCES FOR DRUG CONVICTIONS Two Gaffney men received 15-year prison sentences today for illegal drug activity in Cherokee County. Allen N. Davidson, 31, and Steven Wayne Littlejohn, 56, will serve 85 percent of Circuit Judge Derham Cole’s prison sentences before they are eligible for release. The men were arrested in unrelated operations by the Cherokee County Metro Narcotics Unit. Davidson pleaded guilty to trafficking crack cocaine, trafficking crack cocaine within a half-mile of a school, possession of with intent to distribute alprazolam and possession of alprazolam with intent to distribute within a half-mile of a school. Agents arrested Davidson on Dec. 15, 2006 after they executed a search warrant at the defendant’s Fourth Street home and found quantities of crack cocaine and alprazolam inside. Littlejohn pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine within a half-mile of a school and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within a half-mile of a school. Agents arrested Littlejohn on Feb. 9, 2006 after they executed a search warrant at the defendant’s Goucher School Road home and found 29 grams of powder cocaine in the kitchen. They also found .7 grams of crack cocaine, a set of digital scales and $3,450 cash. Littlejohn’s home is 372 feet from Goucher Elementary School. “If you are going to deal drugs near our Cherokee County homes and schools, be prepared to spend a lot of time in prison,” Assistant Solicitor Michael Morin said. “The crime doesn’t pay. These men will be behind bars until the year 2020.” |
