WOODRUFF MAN RECEIVES 15-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT A Woodruff man received a 15-year prison sentence today after a jury convicted him of sexually abusing a teenage girl. Allen Armfield, 53, was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. The assault occurred in Woodruff in October of 2005 when Armfield visited the victim’s home. The victim, who was 14 at the time, described the sexual assault in detailed interviews with the Woodruff Police Department and Childrens’ Advocacy Center. She also testified during the two-day trial. “The victim has become a remarkable young woman,” Assistant Solicitor Susan Reese said. “We are grateful to this jury for this resolution.” Armfield will serve 85 percent of the prison sentence before he is eligible for release. He will also have his name added to the Sex Offender Registry. The defendant’s prior criminal record included convictions for fraudulent checks and giving false information to police.
