GREER MAN RECEIVES LIFE PRISON SENTENCE FOR HOME INVASION A Greer man received a life prison sentence today after he admitted to holding three people at gunpoint during a home invasion. James Edward Roseboro, 27, pleaded guilty to three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, first-degree burglary and grand larceny before Circuit Judge Mark Hayes. Roseboro is not eligible for parole. Roseboro is one of three men who forced their way into a Perry Avenue home about 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2008. Roseboro and his accomplices approached the home demanding money and marijuana. The bandits, who were armed with a handgun, repeatedly punched a 23-year-old male occupant of the home. The bandits also forced two women inside the home to strip naked while they searched the trailer. The bandits collected a flat screen television and three telephones before leaving the home. Greer police confronted the fleeing bandits when they attempted to flee. Roseboro and Arthur Littlejohn, 29, of Gaffney, were arrested as they attempted to flee the crime scene. Brandon Everett, 21, of Greer, was arrested the next day at his workplace. Armed robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and grand larceny charges are still pending on Littlejohn and Everett. Deputy Solicitor Derrick Bulsa prosecuted the case. For more information, contact Murray Glenn at 809-4892. |
