Bidder registration will begin on October 2, 2023
⦁ Read "Notice to Bidders of Terms and Conditions - November 14, 2023 Tax Sale"
⦁ Complete a Spartanburg County Bidder Registration Form and IRS Form W-9.
⦁ Bidder name and address on the Spartanburg County Bidder Registration Form must match the name and address on the IRS Form W-9. The name listed on the completed forms will be submitted to the IRS to report interest earnings and will be listed on the Tax Deed, if applicable. Bidders wishing to include other names or change names on tax deeds must do so as a separate conveyance after a tax deed is issued.
⦁ Bidders may authorize someone to represent them at the tax sale by completing the section "Authorization to Represent Bidder" on the Spartanburg County Bidder Registration Form.
⦁ Submit your completed Spartanburg County Bidder Registration Form and IRS Form W-9 to the Tax Collector's office online. All required fields and attachments must be properly completed for each registration.
⦁ Bidder number will be assigned upon completion of the Registration process. Bidder number will be issued at Bidder check-in immediately before the tax sale begins. Bidders must have a number to participate in the Tax Sale.
*** Please note that the Spartanburg County Bidder Registration form and the IRS Form W-9 must be complete and accurate in order to participate as a bidder.
