Clerk of Court

THE BIG MOVE!!

Dear Spartanburg County Citizens,

We have settled on a date for the big move to our new judicial center. That date is January 8th through January 19th. During those two weeks the courthouse will be closed to normal traffic for every court located in our current building. Our staff members will still be working, answering phones and emails, processing filings, and sending required notices. There may be times when our phones and computers are in transition which may cause delay in our responses. I ask that everyone be patient with us if this occurs.

We have a small family court docket that will run for the first four days of the move. The only non-employees that will be allowed into the building during this two-week period are attorneys, litigants, and witnesses who are on that small family court docket. No one else will be allowed in the building for any other purpose.

Since we will be closed to normal traffic during this two-week period, we will be using the drop box located at our front entrance for any paper filings you may have for any court located in the building.  Any filing dropped into the box by 5:00 pm, will be clocked as if it were filed in our offices by 5:00 pm that same day. This includes Circuit Court, Family Court, Probate Court, Magistrate Court, and the Master-In-Equity Court.

Magistrate Court

Please visit the Spartanburg County Magistrate Court website to download Magistrate Court forms for filing cases and paying fines/tickets online. You may use the drop box located at the front entrance to the courthouse for letters or documents for the Magistrate Court. You may also mail filings and other documents to the Magistrate Court at Spartanburg County Magistrate Court, 180 Magnolia Street, Spartanburg SC 29306. Documents for Restraining Orders and Evictions can be filed at the three Regional Magistrate Courts; locations for each can be found on the Spartanburg County Magistrate’s website. Hearings for Restraining Orders will be held via Zoom Electronic Connection.
