Environmental Enforcement Officers enforce local and state laws pertaining to acts of littering in the unincorporated areas of Spartanburg County. To include any secondary violations associated with the act of littering.
Litter is deposited along our roadways, waterways and properties by many different ways. The most common of these are from vehicles transporting unsecured waste items, window or handheld tossing of waste items and illegal dumping of waste items.
Environmental Enforcement Officers oversee a litter crew which consists of individuals from the South Carolina Department of Corrections. The litter crew's primary function is to remove roadside litter from county-maintained roadways. The litter crew is taken out Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
