The Spartanburg County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is a volunteer board comprised of nine county citizens appointed by Spartanburg County Council. It exists primarily for citizens to seek either a variance from the requirements found in the Unified Land Management Ordinance or the Performance Zoning Ordinance or an appeal of a decision of the Planning Department staff. This Board also hears requests for Special Exceptions under the Performance Zoning Ordinance.
