Why is the census important to the community?

When you respond to the census, you help your community get its fair share of more than $675 billion per year in federal funds spent on schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other vital programs. Business use census data to decide where to build factories, offices and stores, and this creates jobs.

Why is it important to participate in the 2020 Census?

The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, helps to distribute hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade. The results of this once-a-decade count determine the number of seats each state has in the House of Representatives.
