For Attorneys

S.C. Code Ann. § 63-17-480 requires all child support orders (administrative and/or judicial) contain the social security numbers of both parents.

Spartanburg County Child Support Enforcement must follow the Federal Guidelines specified in Code of Federal Regulations, Title 45, Subtitle B, Chapter III.

It is preferred under the new PACCS System to state the child support obligation as a monthly amount instead of a weekly or biweekly amount. Further, any amounts paid will automatically be distributed based on Federal Guidelines stated in the above mentioned chapter. This may lead to confusion on the part of defendants. Amounts collected for defendants who have multiple cases will be distributed on a percentage of total monthly obligation basis across all his/her current child support cases. Payments will only be applied to arrears balances once the total current monthly obligation has been satisfied.
