Tyger River Development

By Chris Lavender, Spartanburg Herald Journal

A nearly 900-acre tract of land at Tyger River Industrial Park North on Highway 290 in Moore is open for development. Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President Carter Smith said the Pacolet Milliken-owned property has completed the certification process to ensure there are no environmental concerns and utilities can easily be installed. "It is now shovel ready on both sides (of Highway 290)," Smith said. "This is one area where you will continue to see activity. They have specifically set aside the property for industrial, distribution type of development." Spartanburg County Councilman David Britt and Smith, who both visited the park Thursday, expressed optimism about the site's future economic development prospects. "From a business standpoint, Highway 290 is the fastest growing area in the county," Smith said.
