9. When does my permit expire?

Permits expire 6 months after they are issued unless you have an inspection within 6 months, then the permit will renew for another 6 months.

10. What year of Mobile Home can be moved?

Any year mobile home can be moved AS LONG AS IT IS ALREADY ON SPARTANBURG COUNTY TAX ROLL. However, if it is older than 1976 and not on the tax roll, it can't be added back to the tax roll.

Examples:

-A 1972 mobile home coming from Greenville County will not be allowed into Spartanburg County.

-A 1972 mobile home already on the tax roll can be moved to a new location inside Spartanburg County.

11. I have already changed the title of my mobile home into my name, why do I need to come to the Building Codes Office?

We are not linked with the DMV to know that you have changed the title into your name as the new owner; therefore you will need to bring the new title down to our office to do a Change of Ownership Permit. The cost for the permit is $50.

12. Does a carport / storage building require a permit?

Yes. Any structure that you buy or build on your property requires a permit.
