Requests with the correct information and requirements take around 5 to 10 business days. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for data requests.
The plat must be approved by the office of the municipality before it can be recorded. Proof that sewer is available on the property of which you are planning to build. This proof can be indicated on the approved plat by showing sewer lines drawn in by the surveyor or a sewer approval letter from the water company of the municipality.
Once you have gone through the commercial submittal process with Laurie Oakman in the Planning and Development Department, she will notify the GIS/Addressing Department of when it is ok to assign an address to the commercial project.
You will need to complete the map request form located on our GIS Website indicating size map, layers, parcel ID no, etc and submit it to GIS Staff to process the map request.
Please email the GIS Addressing Staff at GisPublic@spartanburgcounty.org In order to process the request, we will need to see a copy of your septic approval letter from DHEC or Sewer availability letter from Sewer Co. In addition, if there are any changes to the parcel (split), we will need to see a recorded Survey as well. Once we receive approval, we will check with the Building Codes Department for final approval for new structure on the property.
You will need to go to the Planning Department and submit a Second Address Form. Upon approval from the Planning Department on Second Structure, you will need to go to DHEC and fill out a Septic Tank application. Once approval from DHEC is mailed or emailed to you, then the GIS Addressing staff can assign the second structure address.
You will need to submit a new Subdivision to the Planning Department. Once the Subdivision has met all approvals from the Planning Department, they will send the final Subdivision Survey to the GIS/Addressing Department for individual lot addresses and road name approvals. Requests may take up to two weeks depending on how many lots and roads are submitted
